It was always a widely known fact that 'pro'tools would crash every so often, so we all knew how to auto-backup our sessions etc. I've been forced to work with ProTools ever since its emergence in the late 90s, mostly in studios, for radio and other broadcasting setups. No other software, and I mean really no other brand or package or app, has ever asked me to disable hyper-threading or turbo boost for their software to function properly.įor the insane (and recurring!) price-tag you ask from your users, you seem absurdly lazy programmers. I had to disable hyperthreading, I had to disable Turbo Boost, even the Intel supplied one, which is just simply asking me to NOT use the CPU for what it is built to do for me. I've thoroughly worked through all the win10 settings you at avid demand from your users, because you were too lazy to code better, or to code for standards, which are much better in most cases. Which is just simply a lie Barely 2% of my CPU is used, even if I'd be installing a hundred extra plugins, let alone that there would be a shortage of RAM or disk-speed or otherwise resource shortages. Try de-activating or removing Native plug-ins. I have set up ProTools, open the session my client sent me, all is fine.
I have a beast of a PC, with 64GB of DDR, and 20 CPU cores (Intel i7 6950). they're too lazy to convert to something else, hence I had to buy ProTools. So, 'professional' people around me forced me to buy the ridiculously priced PT Ultimate for my home setup, because they need to have their workflow pushed upon mine.
